Early Menopause Indicates Risk of Cardiovascular Disease in Women

Early Menopause

Early menopause could be linked to acute illnesses including heart disease, according to a new study published in the medical journal Lancet Public Health recently.

Researchers said that women who get their menopause earlier, in that standard span, may be diagnosed with cardiovascular disease in the near future.

These women are anticipated to experience severe heart stroke and a heart attack before they turn 60 years old, researchers said. Heavy consumption of junk food, noxious lifestyle, and virulent additions such as smoking and drinking are the leading causes behind these possibilities.

The study can play an important role in discovering women are at higher risk of heart disease. It could also make it easier to monitor, diagnose, and prevent the disease earlier, study author Gita Mishra explained.

The researchers further said that, for women, heart disease is a major cause of illness and death. Each woman experiencing premature menopause should give more importance to their healthy body weight; they need circumvent addition of smoking to maintain the effects of risk factors on cardiovascular diseases.

The proposed research is based on an experiment that involved observational analysis of 300,000 women, from which researchers found 13,000 women had suffered from a stroke or heart attack after menopause.

Afterward, researchers compared the analysis of women with early menopause with analysis of women who experienced their menopause after the ’50s. According to their observations, women who experience premature menopause are at higher risk of having a stroke or heart attack than those who experience it a bit later.
